Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer and songwriter for a number of years. When she was a kid she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. The confidence started to build during the 9th grade, when she appeared in an audition and was highly praised for her singing. Not only did she gain confidence from the experience, but she also changed the direction of her career. In 1992, she earned her degree from New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. Her most memorable break came from the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great reviews for her role. The following year, she was cast in the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. Also, she is a well-known performer and has produced an extended show. She is also an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
