Pickler lived in a challenging environment. She was just two when her mother abandoned her in order to escape the abusive marriage. In 1995, she was returned back to the world of Pickler, and took custody. It was, however, not a good time for her. After Pickler reached the age of twelve, the court sent her to her grandparents, which raised her to adulthood. With the loss of their parents Pickler became too busy caring for her children. She revealed that she didn't have time to read and began learning how to be a homemaker at a young age. Pickler was a cheerleader in both middle and high school. North Stanly High School graduated her in 2004. Pickler has also attempted her hand as a model. She once held the title as Miss Stanly County.
